I'm on facebook a lot. Why? I can browse and leave simple comments with one hand while I'm feeding Michael. I know that most people now use their phone to post things, but that still isn't an excuse for not proofreading posts! The extra, random words drive me crazy, and they don't make sense.
Example:
That awkward moment when someone asks if they a shirt makes them look fat when actually they're just fat.
Why is it so annoying? Well this post was funny, but the fact that I had to do a double-read (my word for a double-take while reading) ruined the whole post. Okay, that might be a little overdramatic. I don't mind grammer issues or even bad spelling (except I do get very annoyed when someone writes fill when it should be feel), but I'm done with random words that make me want to leave a comment doing this:
That awkward moment when someone asks if they* a shirt makes them look fat when actually they're just fat. *Please omit they next time.
I know this is a stupid pet-peeve, so ignore my rant if you want.

Lefty or Righty?
Is it too early to tell if Michael is left or right handed? Since he was a month old I've been handing him stuff and wrapping his fingers around toys. He hangs on for a minute with his left hand, but drops everything we put in his right hand.
I can't figure out if he is trying to copy me because I'm right handed, or if he grabs for things with his left because my right hand is closest to him when he's facing me. But Josh is left handed and Michael still grabs things from him with his left hand.
My guess is he will be a lefty, just like daddy.

3 months!
When I was pregnant every trimester was a huge stepping stone, I thought 'three months down, another three (or six) to go!' I really felt like I was changing a lot, and he was getting bigger. Now he's out, and the same amount of time has past as in a trimester. This time I'm not the one growing but he sure is! I don't feel like he has slowed down at all!
Michael's fun facts:
He tries to have conversations with us. If I say "hi" he makes a little squawk back. He rarely talks to himself unless one of us are talking to him. He has learning to wait until we stop talking to him to respond. Of course nothing makes sense, except we think he understands "hi" because his response is short and has an 'I' vowel in it.
He has become very dependent. He is fine to hang out and look around if Josh or I have homework to finish. We leave him in his crib at night and he usually falls asleep without any rocking or singing.
He loves strangers. He is really interested in people he doesn't see very often, or has never seen before. Our friends watch him while I have class on Wednesday nights and he loves to see them!
He loves other babies. We have two friends with babies, one is 8 months older than him and the other is a month and a half older. He smiles every time he sees them.
He is gaining head control. Soon he will be sitting up on his own. So far he's managed to sit up by himself for 2 seconds before falling
He still laughs and smiles at us all the time
He is in 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers (which are the worst diapers except newborn and I can't wait to get him out of them)
He isn't picky. He will wear any kind of diaper. He will eat from me or take a bottle, and will take any formula.
He has set himself on a schedule, but he isn't too upset if we change it for a day or two, like we do on weekends.
Bring on the burp cloths! He drools like crazy!
Selfishyly, I hope his growing slows down a little bit. Michael is no longer an infant, he is a baby, and soon will be a toddler!

The Biggest Loser = ME
My family has been doing a Biggest Loser contest for the last 1-2 months. Some people started before Christmas and some after. For the most part we are all doing okay, but I feel so embarrassed! I started in the middle of December when Michael was a month old. I thought 'well I have 25 lbs left of baby weight to lose, so if I start now, I might have a leg up!'
NEWS FLASH: CHEATING DOESN'T MEAN YOU WIN!
Technically I wasn't trying to cheat. I knew that when Josh and I started school in January we would have little time to work out. Plus it's freezing in Logan, and there is a very limited time during the day when we could go running with Michael. So I thought it was fair enough. Unfortunately, I've only lost 5 pounds in the last two months. And Josh...well he's about the same he was before. Despite trying to cook healthier meals, eating at home more often, taking Michael walking when we have time, and even trying to sneak in some pushups, it still isn't looking pretty.
Ironically, I am in first place in our competition. The only reason I am in first place is because I put SO MUCH weight on to begin with. I have close competition, and a part of me really hopes someone else ends up winning so I don't feel guilty about my win. That feels just like losing.
So here I am, The Biggest Loser, currently in weight and in winning.
