Our New Life

Our life has changed a lot in the first year of marriage.  We are proud to announce that we are going to be the parents of the cutest baby boy.  He is scheduled to be here on November 20, 2011.  His name will by Michael Paul Crump.  At first we were joking if we have a boy we would name him after our favorite TV character from the office Michael Scott.  Once we finally found out that he was a boy Kim thought maybe Michael Scott isn't such a good idea.  We still loved the name Michael.  He will have lots of nicknames.  Some of my favorites are Mikey and Michelangelo.  I'm going to dress him up as a ninja turtle every Halloween.  We picked the middle name Paul after his grandfather (Kim's dad).  After Paul got married he had 3 girls and no boys.  His oldest daughter Melissa his 3 adorable little girls so far he hasn't had any sons or grandsons; Michael will be the first.

It's been a long 32 weeks and we want Michael to be here right now.  It's been a difficult pregnancy for Kim.  We've now been to the ER 3 times for this little guy.  Hopefully that will be the record for all of our kids.  Something always seems to go wrong either when we're on vacation in Disneyland, in the middle of the night, or on the weekend when we're in Salt Lake.  It either comes from unexpected bleeding or Kim thinking that her water broke.  Through all of these visits to the hospital the doctor assures us every time that our little guy is doing just fine.  This is Michael at his 20 week checkup.  The best picture is the 3D picture that they printed off for us where we can see his little hands and feet.  It's amazing the technology they have these days so that a mom can see her little baby.  We already know that Michael is going to be the cutest little boy.  Now Kim is about 32 weeks and has quite the belly.

This is a picture of Kim with her cute little belly at 19 weeks.  Her belly is shall we say much bigger than this.  She loves making faces when she has her picture taken.  It is cute to see her rub her belly and talk to her little boy.  You can tell that she loves Michael more than anything.  The best is seeing how much he loves mommy even thought he often kicks her bladder or lodges himself up in her ribs.  Though he hurts her when he does this there are many times that he kicks the outside of her belly.  About a month ago we were at her parents house and he was kicking up a storm.  That was the first time that I really felt him kick.  Even when I took my hand off of her stomach you could see her tummy jiggle because he was kicking her so hard.  It was really cute!

Well after many visits to Target, Walmart, and Babies R Us we got Michael's Nursery all put together.  Some of the furniture was quite a challenge, especially for me because I had to hold one side up while I screwed in the other side.  Everybody was so generous at the baby showers that we had.  We got a lot of clothes, toys, and bath stuff for our little boy.  Thank you everybody for buying this stuff for our little Michael.  We greatly appreciate it.  I posted on facebook a few weeks ago that my unborn son has more clothes than I do.  It will be quite a while before he has more clothes than mommy.

Kim got to buy all these cute maternity clothes so that she can be more comfortable during her pregnancy.  I think she just wanted the excuse to buy more clothes.  After she has Michael she will have to buy more clothes.  I'll just have to do my best to tell her you can only have new clothes, you don't need 10 pairs of new shoes because you just had a baby.  Maybe 1 or 2 so she can feel better after a long pregnancy and a not so fun labor.  Hopefully she won't take as long as my mom did when she gave birth to me.  I guess I was quite the difficult baby.  Let's hope that Kim will soon be taking care of a little boy we can document his and our life with this blog.  This will be good for us as well to let everyone know how we are doing since we live so far away.  Logan does sometimes feel like the middle of nowhere.
